Ingredients
- task_alt10 slices of bread for French toast or day-old bread
- task_alt1/2 l. of milk
- task_alt50 g. sugar
- task_alt1 egg
- task_alt1 cinnamon stick
- task_altPeel of 1 lemon
- task_altA splash of Baileys or other liquor (optional)
- task_altA few drops of olive oil
- task_alt1 tbsp. cinnamon for coating the French toast
step by step recipe
- Heat the milk with sugar in a saucepan, add a cinnamon stick and some lemon peel (and the optional liquor). Wait for it to boil, and when it starts boiling, remove from heat, cover and wait for it to cool down before starting to soak the bread slices.
- When the milk has cooled, pour it into a dish and place the bread slices to soak in the milk. Wait for the bread to absorb all the milk.
- Then, in a bowl, beat an egg and dip the soaked bread slices in the egg. Place the French toast pieces in the tray of our air fryer, without letting them touch each other, on parchment paper so we can flip them. We'll need to do this in several batches.
- Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 180°C.
- Cook the French toast by placing them in the lower slot for 10 minutes at 200°C. After 5 minutes, we'll flip them so they cook evenly on both sides.
- Finally, mix sugar and cinnamon on a plate and coat the French toast pieces, then place them on a tray.
- They are delicious freshly made, but they can also be enjoyed cold and are still a pleasure to eat.
Ingredients
- They can also be made with plant-based milk and are equally delicious.
