Ingredients

  • task_alt400 g. of dried chickpeas
  • task_alt30 g. of fresh parsley
  • task_alt1 small onion
  • task_alt5 garlic cloves
  • task_alt15 g. of cilantro
  • task_alt8 g. of salt
  • task_alt2 g. pepper
  • task_alt1 tsp. of baking powder

step by step recipe

  1. Soak the dried chickpeas for 18-24 hours, ensuring they are completely covered with water. (Dried chickpeas can double in size, so make sure to use enough water).
  2. Place the blades in the Robotmix jug.
  3. After soaking, drain the water from the chickpeas and add them to the Robotmix jar. Add the rest of the ingredients to the jar and blend by setting the Robotmix to speed 9 for 30 seconds. Stop the blending and clean the sides of the bowl. Repeat this 2-3 more times.
  4. Cool the falafel mixture in the refrigerator for 1 hour to set slightly. (We can put the entire covered jar with the mixture in the refrigerator).
  5. Remove from the refrigerator and use an ice cream scoop to form round balls of the mixture, about the size of a golf ball. (If freezing, place them in an airtight container and freeze at this point).
  6. Place the falafel balls in the air fryer basket and cook by setting the air fryer to 190°C for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve piping hot!

Ingredients

  • It's best not to use canned or jarred chickpeas as they won't provide the right texture.
  • They can be easily frozen before cooking for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
