Ingredients
- task_alt260 g. of flour
- task_alt2 g. of salt (divided)
- task_alt0.5-1 g. pepper
- task_alt3 g. paprika
- task_alt1 g. onion powder
- task_alt200 ml. of kefir
- task_alt6 chicken drumsticks
- task_alt1 egg
- task_alt1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- task_alt3 tablespoons of sunflower oil
step by step recipe
- Preheat the air fryer to 195°C. Dry the chicken pieces. In a large bowl, beat together the kefir and egg. In another container, mix the flour and dry seasonings.
- Using a pastry brush, brush a thin layer of sunflower oil on the bottom of the air fryer basket to prevent sticking. Dip the chicken drumsticks one by one in the flour mixture, and shake off the excess.
- Then dip the chicken in the kefir mixture and let the excess drip off. Finally, dip the same chicken back into the flour mixture and place it in the air fryer basket.
- With the pastry brush, carefully paint the top of the chicken with a thin layer of sunflower oil. Repeat the same with the rest of the chicken pieces until the basket is full.
- Be careful not to overlap the chicken pieces and leave enough space for each piece. This will ensure that each piece becomes very crispy. About 3 chicken drumsticks fit in the 3.5 L air fryer basket.
- Close the basket and cook the chicken by setting it to 195°C for 15 minutes. Open the basket and use tongs to flip the chicken to the other side and brush a thin layer of oil on this side of the chicken.
- Put the basket back and cook for another 5-10 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 75°C. Serve piping hot!
Ingredients
- To reheat leftover chicken, it's best to use the air fryer in preheating mode to ensure the skin stays crispy.
