step by step recipe
- First, we freeze the octopus for a minimum of 72 hours. It can also be purchased already frozen.
- We take the octopus out of the freezer a day before and move it to the refrigerator to thaw. Once thawed, we wash it under cold running water.
- We add the liter of water, the octopus, the bay leaf, and the peeled and halved onion to the pot.
- Right on top, we place the steamer basket with the potatoes inside, cut into slices about a finger thick.
- We cover and set the STEAM Menu, cooking temperature 1, for 40 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, we check if the potatoes are tender and remove them.
- We cover and let the octopus finish cooking.
- Once the program is finished, we check if the octopus is tender by piercing the tentacles with a skewer or fork.
- We drain the octopus and cut it into 1-2 cm slices.
- We serve by placing the octopus on a bed of potatoes.
- We serve with paprika, flaky salt, and a drizzle of oil.
- Enjoy!
